Privacy Policy

PRAX Academy (“PRAX Academy,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is the barbering education brand operated by JACKLOUII, doing business as PRAX Hair. This policy covers praxacademy.com.

Our studio site, prax.studio, publishes its own policy. Our online membership is hosted on Skool, a separate company with its own privacy policy and its own controls — when you join, sign in, post, or pay there, you are on Skool’s platform and this policy does not govern it.

We are based in California and direct this site to people in the United States. We process information in the United States.

Automatically, when you browse. IP address, browser and device characteristics, pages viewed, referring page, and approximate location inferred from IP. This is standard web-server and analytics information.

When you register for an in-person class. Your name and email address, the class you selected, the number of seats, and the payment status of your order. If you buy seats for other people, we collect the attendee names you provide — that is personal information about someone else, supplied by you, and we rely on you having their permission to share it.

Payment details are collected by Stripe, not by us. Card numbers never reach our servers. We receive a confirmation, an amount, and an identifier for the transaction.

Staff accounts. Our team signs in to a private administrative area using Clerk. That is limited to PRAX staff — there are no customer accounts on this site.

When you contact us. Whatever you choose to put in your message.

We do not collect sensitive personal information as defined by California law, and we do not ask for it.

We use cookies and similar technologies for two purposes: to make the site work, and to measure advertising.

The Meta Pixel. We use the Meta Pixel, a piece of code provided by Meta Platforms, Inc. It records that a browser visited our site and which actions were taken — for example viewing a class or completing a registration — so we can measure whether our advertising works. We also send a matching record from our own server to Meta so measurement is not dependent on your browser.

When we send these records for a registration, they may include a version of your email address that has been irreversibly hashed before it leaves our server, so Meta can match it against an existing account without receiving the address itself. We never transmit your name, your address, or your payment details to Meta.

Meta is a third party that may track your activity across other sites and services over time. Their use of information they collect is governed by their own policies.

Do Not Track. Some browsers send a “Do Not Track” (DNT) signal. There is no common industry standard for interpreting it, and we do not currently respond to DNT signals.

Global Privacy Control. We do honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. If your browser or extension sends GPC, we treat it as an opt-out of sharing for advertising and we stop sending advertising events — both from your browser and from our server.

• To run classes: process registrations, confirm your seat, email you details, and check you in at the door.
• To operate and secure the site, including preventing fraud and abuse.
• To measure and improve our advertising.
• To respond when you contact us.
• To meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations.

We do not use your information to make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects.

We do not sell your personal information for money. We share it with service providers who process it on our behalf, under contract:

• Stripe — payment processing.
• Neon — the database that stores registration and attendee records.
• Vercel — website hosting and delivery.
• Clerk — staff authentication only.
• Resend — sending confirmation and class emails.
• Meta Platforms — advertising measurement, as described in Section 03.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights or someone’s safety, or in connection with a sale or transfer of the business.

Under California law, our use of advertising technologies counts as “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising. See Section 07.

• Enable Global Privacy Control in your browser. We honor it.
• Use your browser settings to block or delete cookies.
• Adjust your ad preferences directly with Meta.
• Email us with the subject line “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information.”
• Ask us to access or delete what we hold — see Section 07.

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what we collect, to access it, to correct it, to delete it, and to opt out of sale or sharing. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

In the last twelve months we have collected these categories:

• Identifiers — name, email, IP address. From you, and automatically.
• Commercial information — classes registered for and order history. From you and from Stripe.
• Internet and device activity — pages viewed, referring page, device characteristics. Automatically.
• Approximate location — inferred from IP address. Automatically.
• Inferences — advertising audience signals. Derived.

We share identifiers, internet and device activity, and inferences for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not sell personal information for money, and we do not sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16.

To make a request, email us using the details in Section 12. We will verify your request by asking for information that matches what we already hold, and we will respond within 45 days, extending once by a further 45 days if we need more time. An authorized agent may act for you with written permission.

We keep registration and payment records for approximately four years, the period during which California tax authorities may assess a return, after which we delete or anonymize them. We keep attendee names for the class they relate to and for a short period afterward for recordkeeping, then delete them. Advertising and analytics records are kept on shorter cycles, and Meta’s own retention is governed by its policies.

Access to registration data is limited to PRAX staff who need it. Payment card details are held by Stripe, not by us. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

This site is intended for barbering professionals and adults. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If a minor attends a class, we ask that a parent or guardian complete the registration. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

We link to Skool, Instagram, and other third-party services. Their privacy practices are their own, and we do not control them. Review their policies before providing information.

We may update this policy. When we do, we will change the effective date at the top. Material changes will be made clear on this page.
